Jamie Maclaren should stay in the A-League for at least two more seasons before testing himself in Europe, Brisbane coach John Aloisi reckons.

Maclaren, 23, earned his first Socceroos cap earlier this year, after emerging as the A-League's best Australian striker with 20 goals last season, only behind golden boot winner Bruno Fornaroli.

But instead of rushing off overseas to test himself, Aloisi believes Maclaren - who is off contract at the end of the season - should dominate the domestic scene for a little while longer.
