Brisbane Roar have moved clear at the top of the table following a 2-1 victory over Central Coast Mariners.

Brandon Borrello was the hero for the Roar, scoring two goals to help the team to their second win in two games.

The Roar controlled large portions of the game and appeared to have a confident performance inform of a 14,400 strong crowd.

Liam Reddy will feel unlucky to concede the first goal after getting a hand to Borrello’s side footed shot, however the ball still made it into the back of the net. The 14th minute goal set the tone for the match and Borrello doubled the hosts lead after the halftime break after some good counter attacking play.

Central Coast got a consolation goal in the 90th minute through Josh Bingham.

The early signs for this season are good for the Roar who had a bumpy off season.
