Two To Go
With the restructured finals system the magical number for the Brisbane Roar to win another trophy is set at two matches.
The final weekend of the regular season demonstrated the importance of finishing positions with all matches played under finals pressure.
The Roar were humbled by a gutsy Mariners side 2-0 at Suncorp on Saturday and although I think itís important to drop a game every now and again, I have no doubts that Mulvey will be reading the riot act at training this week.
What it means
As two leg playoffs have now been banished, the Roar and Wanderers have been gifted a valuable week off. The first week of playoffs will see Melbourne Victory (4th) host an improving Sydney FC (5th) whilst Adelaide (6th) will travel to the Central Coast for a date with the Mariners (3rd). This places the Roar in a situation where they will meet either Melbourne FC, Sydney FC or Adelaide in week 2, a meeting where the winner stamps their ticket to grand final day.
Which team would you like to play if given the opportunity?
Who should the Roar be most weary of?
