The Brisbane Roar are now one win away from the premiers plate after securing a draw against Sydney on Friday night. The result was soured with the sending off of Besart Berisha for a suspect tackle.

The roar led through a header from Berisha early in the first half before Sydney cancelled out the goal with a well worked set piece. The Albanian then turned from hero to villain seeing red for a challenge on Seb Ryall minutes before the half-time break.

Again the Gaffa’s tactics at half-time paid off with Brisbane preventing Sydney from playing free-flowing football earning a valuable point. By playing Broich as a rover the Roar were able to move the ball around the park creating their own chances whilst cementing a fortress at the back.

Saturday Celebrations

With the Wanderers being held on Saturday, the orange men now have an opportunity to secure another piece of silverware on Saturday against the Melbourne Victory. The Roar will be looking to take care of business in preparation for the upcoming finals.
